Choice of materials

ERW Mild Steel Tubes

Influencing choice and design on so many construction projects, mild steel ERW is one of the key building materials being specified for use around the world today.

We supply mild steel oval and elliptical sections in 18 different profiles, typically using grade BS EN10305-3 E220 and similar or equivalent steel. All profiles can be found in our product range.

Our customers will specify our mild steel ERW oval products when color is a key requirement of the building design as the sections can be polyester powder coated or spray painted to give a high quality finish.

Stainless steel tubes

Oval Tubes (UK) Limited currently supply elliptical, oval and flat-sided oval profiles in grade 304 and grade 316 stainless steel.

Grade 304 is the most commonly used grade of stainless and is typically specified for most indoor locations such as offices, shops and hotels where dry, clean environments exist and where there is no risk of surface contamination from excessive corrosion such as indoor swimming pool areas.

Grade 316 is the second most popular grade of stainless and, although more expensive than grade 304, is commonly specified for external and marine environments and also internal locations such as swimming pool areas due to its excellent corrosion resistant properties.
